| About Khimsar Dunes Village |
|
Located 6 kms from Khimsar Fort this village
lies in the heart of the seven dunes
of 'Akla' measuring 8 kms in circumference.
A water body in the centre makes it a
perfect 60 acre oasis of peace. The village
is surrounded by sand dunes in all
directions. It is Accessible by jeep, Camel
& horse. The cluster of huts resemble the
local village hutments known as "dhanis".
Each hut has a 17 ft thatched grass dome.the
huts have independent courtyards which
provide perfect privacy. The rooms are
overlooking the water body with the sand
dunes as a backdrop. They enjoy the complete
silence & tranquility of the the thar desert
!There are dining facilities by the
waterside and atop the dunes. Observe ducks,
geese, fish & wild birds from the comfort of
your hammock or water mattress. In tranquil
silence of the golden sands sip tea while
witnessing the beautiful desert sunset.
Other activities include camel/horse
expeditions, yoga, massage & star-gazing.
Each
hut has lavish area of 300 square feet. The
interiors are truly ethnic. Mud plastered
walls with an earthen color palette. The
retro styled furniture is made of heavy wood
with iron strapping. Open air showers with
hot & cold running water. A generous vanity
with quaint rustic charm. Luxury par
excellence !! The entire village is
conscientiously designed to be eco-friendly
& merge with the environment. Solar power
has been extensively used. Wireless
communication is available in case of any
emergency. The village is secured by an

the edge of the Great Thar Desert in the
